What Playtime! keeps, what it sends, and to whom.

Playtime! has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Bedrijf Zonder Naam runs no server that collects anything about you. Almost everything the app knows stays on your device; what leaves it goes to the people you chose, sealed so that only they can open it.

On your device

• How you appear (the shapes and words you choose), your NiceThings, where you put things in your world, your levels, and the sound you record for coming online.
• Each NiceThing is a key made between two devices. Its private part is kept in the device's Secure Enclave where there is one, and cannot be read out.
• The words that describe how things look are read by a model on your own device. They are not sent anywhere to be read.

In iCloud Keychain

Your lasting key is kept in iCloud Keychain, so that it comes back with you on a new device. Apple keeps it for you under your Apple Account, end-to-end encrypted; Bedrijf Zonder Naam never sees it.

Nearby

To find each other, devices nearby use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. They show each other only short-lived keys that change every fifteen minutes, never your lasting key, so nobody in the room can recognise you later.

Far away

To reach a friend who is not nearby, your device leaves a note in the public Mainline DHT (the network BitTorrent uses) saying that you are online and where to reach you. The note is sealed for that one friend and changes every hour; nobody else can read it. As with any internet connection, the computers you connect to see your device's internet address.

To your friends

• How you appear, sealed to each friend.
• Your sound for coming online: to friends nearby in the minute after you do, and to friends far away while you are online.
• Your voice, only while a friend listens in, and only to them. Nothing is recorded.
• During a visit, the two of you see where the other is. Your location is used for nothing else and kept nowhere.
• What your shared NiceThings look like, as the two of you agree.

In BETA

When you enter BETA, the others there see you, as the words you appear in, and what you hold. The BETA host, run by Bedrijf Zonder Naam, tells visitors who else is there and forgets whoever came once they leave; what passes between visitors goes directly between them, never through the host. When you leave, you go on under a new key.

What is never used

The camera. Your contacts. Your photos. Your location outside a visit.

This website

If you ask this page to tell you when Playtime! is ready, your browser gives it an address at your browser's push service (Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft) and two keys to seal the message with. That is all this site keeps: no cookies, no analytics, no name or e-mail address. It sends that one message, then deletes them; you can stop it before then on the same page. The web server keeps the usual access logs.

Added to your Home Screen, the page shows Morgen Doen from morgendoen.nl; what Morgen Doen does is its own.

Your rights

Because Bedrijf Zonder Naam keeps no data about you, there is nothing held by us to see, correct or delete, but for a request to be told, which you can withdraw on the page itself. To remove everything, delete the app; your lasting key stays in your iCloud Keychain until you remove it there.
